DANDELIONS
(a poem in progress)

Dandelions
know when itโs time to leave the party.
Did you know,
they have been called โShepherdโs clock?โ
Every morning, with little sunshine faces,
they greet the day--
smiling, just because itโs morning.
As the sun fades, so do they,
shyly hiding their faces again.
A few times of this,
before they realize-- time to go!
Letting themselves relax into softness
kindly, gray old age
and scatter
into a shower of wishes.
