I ended up propping plywood under the eves since it was raining so hard the gutters couldn’t keep up and the water was practically pouring into the basement. I spent 3+ hours using the shop vac to get it out of the cellar which is lower than the rest of the basement and doesn’t feed into the pit where the sump pump is. I also had to fix a clogged sump pump and get it going because while there wasn’t as much water in other areas, there was still significant water coming in for it to pump out too. It’s suppose to rain for the next week still 😭 I’m trying to find a good dehumidifier to buy to help it dry out down there. There’s no more standing water but it’s pretty soggy so if you have suggestions for one you like, please drop em in the comments below or send me a message.
