We found an absolutely incredible spot to call home after having pretty bad luck at the dunes. When we went to the dunes we didn’t think it would be so busy because of the weekday and spots were limited to flat desert land with cactus- so pups had a hard time exploring and we were pretty wind exposed. We woke up the next day, went and played on the dunes and then decided to head towards a mountain pass to camp instead and found an oasis in the woods for us and the pups to explore. While the pups stayed in the van sunny and I wandered into the cottonwood forest to find a place to enjoy each other, nearly impossible in the van with the pups, and played with the dogs the rest of the day in the creek and sunshine. Last night was rough with one of our dogs having a pretty rough night and took hours to calm him down, our heater stopped working and it got pretty chilly- but that’s all the part of camping. I can’t ever remember a trip where we didn’t have to problem solve something. We are headed home soon, but wanted to thank you guys for the time away and cannot wait to connect again soon.
